I spent my early years forcing the neighborhood kids into performing plays I wrote, reading everything I could get my hands on, and singing in the school choir. I always had a notebook going with ideas for novels, terrible poetry, and short story attempts.
I graduated from Wake Forest University with a BA in English and received a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law. After working as a lawyer for several years and writing legal briefs that occasionally bordered on a little too dramatic, I realized how much I missed creative writing. I started writing fiction again and never stopped.
I now live in Richmond, Virginia with my husband, four sons, and our rescue dog named Albert. If I’m not reading and writing, you can find me out on the water, watching romantic comedies, online shopping for beautiful shoes, or making an enormous mess in the kitchen. Unfortunately, my own children refuse to perform any of my early “works” despite all manners of bribery.
